How the guides are put together
Where the information comes from
The guides bring together official sources, manufacturer guidelines, property and tourism information, and Henri's own experience. Each guide says for itself what kind of source sits behind its information.
- Garden Route Edition Road status from official road, park and conservation notices, as checked on 12 September 2026.
- Helmet Guide The road use rule, product approval through the NRCS, and standards such as ECE, DOT, Snell and SHARP.
- Tyre Edition The motorcycle manufacturer's approved fitment and the tyre manufacturer's instructions. It provides categories, not guarantees about specific models.
- Accommodation Guide A shortlist compiled from property and tourism information. It is not a list of places where Henri has stayed or that have been inspected by motorcycle.
Henri's own experience
Where a guide gives Henri's experience or preference, it is named as such. Henri is not a qualified instructor; he shares what has worked for him over the years. His preferences remain personal — they do not guarantee that the same choice will work for your motorcycle or route.
Information changes
Every guide carries a version and a date on which the information was last checked. Road conditions, accommodation details, opening hours, prices, regulations and amenities can change. Confirm time-sensitive details with the official source or supplier before you depart, book or buy.
Our promise
Nobody pays to be in a guide
No dealer, importer or lodge pays for a listing in a guide. This is not a promise for now — it is how it works.
When we later run paid campaigns with lodges, they will be visibly marked as a campaign and kept separate from the choices in the guides. We are deciding that line now, before there is money involved.
